The medal is a die struck, gold washed two piece zinc based example with tombac crossed swords. The obverse depicts a blackened pair of crossed daggers surrounded by an oak leaf wreath above a swastika, with nine oak leaves to each side. The reverse pin/hinge assembly is broke off and lost to time. The flat wire catch remains intact. This one has lost 30%+ of it's gilt yet retains good detail. Purchased from Vet's family by me
