Truly a great piece here! The unmarked blade on this one is a beauty! The crossgrain is absolutely awesome! The tip is perfect as is the fit! This blade rates an easy Exc++/NM. There is just the slightest bit of spotting throughout. The original black buffer pad remains intact. The black enameled painted scabbard is in excellent condition! 99% of the black enamel remains intact. There is some age crazing throughout and it remains completely dent free! The plated scabbard fittings have nice matching patina. All the screws are intact and unturned. The leather hanger looks great! The brown leather remains in nice condition and the clip works well! The hilt also remains in excellent condition! The plated RAD eagle crossguard is beautiful, with superb plating coverage and wonderful details throughout! The pommel has some age spidering, the threads were stripped when I got this so I had it inserted, it's now perfect and no one would ever know unless they took this apart. The black hardwood grip is in excellent condition! There is some pressure marks throughout with one wee crack just above the eagles head (it's hardly noticeable). So many of these are in rough shape and they often want to chip as the die tends to make them brittle, this one is definitely better than 95% of them. It has a properly pinned swastika. The swastika's enamel is 99%. The swastika has some texture to the enamel to it so "I'm going to play it safe here and say that someone fixed it up, (not me). Yes "I'm being extra anal here. Overall this is an awesome piece and is deserving of a great collection!
