Here's a great SS dagger for you guys! The bright blade on this one looks great! The acid etched ?Gottlieb Hammesfahr Solingen Foche? maker mark and Meine Ehre heisst Treue motto are both beautifully executed! The blade / crossguard fit is perfect. The crossgrain is absolutely stunning in the light! The tip comes to a sharp point, and is 1mm short. On the safe side "I'm going to say that it was re-tipped. The blade rates Exc+/Exc++. There is the slightest bit of spotting. The black anodized scabbard looks great! It remains completely dent-free and look at all that lacquer that remains!! The solid nickel scabbard fittings remain in excellent condition. All four screws remain intact. The ball has a good hit to the bottom. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards look great, matching the scabbard fittings in color and wear. The reverse of the lower crossguard is correctly district stamped ?I" (Munich). All the angles are correct and the grip / crossguard fits look great. The black hardwood grip looks good. It has a crack to the front and a chip to the reverse. I honestly didn't notice the crack to the front the first time I looked at it and my pictures make it look big but you will truly have a hard time finding it. Finding an SS grip with no chips is really hard to come by. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and sits perfectly in the grip. The SS roundel retains 100% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. Nice dagger out of an advanced Canadian collection.
