Here's a decent piece with a rare feature. The blade on this piece has been handled and unfortunately the result is fingerprint stains. This is exactly why I cringe at shows when I see guys carelessly handling this stuff with their bare hands. 10 years from now you will see the results of the acid from your hands. Please for history sake never touch these blades!! Ok enough said I'll stop my rant. The blade does however have a perfect tip, the fit is excellent, the motto and maker mark look good and the crossgrain is awesome. The blade rates Exc+. The brown anodized scabbard looks perfect and is dent free! Look at all that factory lacquer!! The solid nickel fittings have even wear throughout and look great. The ball has a few bumps to it, although its seam remains intact. All of the screws remain intact. The scabbard/crossguard fit looks good. The solid nickel crossguards are in good shape. The top crossguard looks great. There are a few hits to the obverse of the lower scabbard. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped "OST" (Ostland). A rare feature that you don't come across too often! The light brown hardwood grip is in good shape if you can forgive a hairline to the lower right obverse. The solid nickel eagle is nicely detailed and has a great fit. The roundel has a few hits but continues to retains 80% of its enamel. A decent piece for anyone! And if you're looking for that "OST" Gruppe Stamp, look no further as you won't find another one of these for a while!
