These are rare beasts and I pass on most of these I come across. I picked this one up locally. Blade is an good example with lots of age grey but no serious pitting or no retipping. The motto is crisp and absolutely correctly executed and is the type II maker mark for those of you checking references. The grip has some flaking to the reverse upper crossguard but there are no cracks. Crossguards are aluminum which I like to see on NPEA's. The right lower corner has taken a good hit and it's bent down slightly and has a small crack. The obverse is unit marked ST171 indicating issue to NPEA Stuhm. The undented scabbard has surface oxidation scrapes and paint loss but certanly 70% of the factory olive paint remains. It has a perfect magnetic ball. The frog remains intact and is personalized to the lower obverse "JRH", The reverse is also marked "W". The top reverse is also marked but the name or whatever was there is scraped off, who knows the story there. but the smae frog can be seen in Ron's reference pg 84. A good example of a rare dagger missing from most collections.
