Here we have a honest example of what is becoming a hard find. This is a Nagoya sword produced under Kokra administration. I do like these as they are unique and always desired by experienced collectors. The 26 1/4" inch machine made blade is in fine shape, As with all Nagoya Arsenal blades the numbers are read with the cutting edge up. rating Exc++. The fit is nice and tight and the tip is perfect. The blade rates Exc++. The scabbard is period repainted it has factory green paint with a light brown finish over that. Not sure what the story is there, my guess is that this guy was in two theatres of operation. No, I don't know for sure but what I do know is that the paint is period. It does have several wear spots / loss of paint throughout yet it continues to remain dent free. The throat is stamped 19050 a very early issue number matching the blade. As with all known examples of the Nagoya sword the scabbard throat retention screw is to the reverse. The Tsuba is an "open-work" or "pierced" style. The tsuba is a brass construction, with and four holes encircled by a pebbled finish, the top being utilized by the release mechanism. The cast grip is painted showing honest wear and I seen no evidence the sword has been disassembled. As with all the Nagoya grips exhibit a different "wrap pattern". Look at how far forward the meuki to the obverse. The fuchi is stamped with the Gifu logo, a Nagoya inspection mark and a Kokura arsenal identification stamp.
