Police/Fire General’s or Water Police Stickpin by L/15
Polizei/Feuerwehr General Mitgliednadel by L/15 - Otto Schickle of Pforzheim. Introduced June 25, 1936. It could also be for the Wasserschutzpolizei. The stickpin lapel variation would be privately purchased for everyday wear. It is constructed out of an injection molded aluminum base that has been gold washed. The obverse depicts a golden 2nd pattern police eagle, clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons, surrounded by an oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The fullback reverse is maker marked: “L/15” within a rectangular border and has a soldered-on and knurled stickpin. The face measures 7/16 of an inch wide by 3/8 of an inch tall. A rare piece.
