Japan, WWII – Imperial Japanese Army Major’s M3 Tunic and Breaches. It is constructed out of a high-quality tailor-made olive drab tri-cot wool. It features five gilt steel buttons to the front with two breast pockets that have scalloped flaps and smaller gilt steel buttons along with two hip pockets that have plan flaps and stitched French cuffs. The collar features two red (Infantry) multi-piece single-star Major collar tabs. As the sleeves do not have the stipes of cuff braid and there is no gold bullion embroidered star the tabs may have been added. The exterior shows one wee scuff/hole to the reverse. The fully lined interior features a thick quality tri-cot green satin, with plenty of stitching throughout. The interior breast pockets each have scalloped flaps and a single butt, no tags to the interior. It has a stitched-on hexagon green and white name tag. The arms have a decorative lining. Shoulder to shoulder is 16 inches. Spine to collar is 25 1/2 inches. Sleeve is 22 inches long. Also included are the breaches. They are made of a slightly lighter olive drab tri-cot wool. The interior features similar cotton tri-cot and decorative lining. Multiple stitched-on buttons throughout, one missing to the back. One light round red stamp and some light red stitching. One hole and some scuffs throughout. It measures 37 inches long. The waist is 17 inches wide.
