Japan, WWII – Imperial Japanese Army Captain’s Officer M3 Tunic. It is constructed out of a high-quality tailor-made olive drab tri-cot wool. It features five gilt brass/steel multi-piece buttons to the front with two breast pockets that have smaller buttons and scalloped flaps and two hip pockets with plan flaps. The collar features two red (Infantry) multi-piece three-star captain collar tabs. Each of the sleeves carries a stripe of cuff braid and three stitched-on gold bullion embroidered stars. The exterior shows one wee scuff and three wee holes, the largest next the collar, and is otherwise in excellent condition. The fully lined interior features a thick quality tri-cot green cotton, with plenty of stitching throughout. The interior breast pockets each have tags to the interior. It has a stitched-on hexagon green and orange name tag. The arms have a decorative lining. Shoulder to shoulder is 16 1/2 inches. Spine to collar is 26 inches. Sleeve is 22 inches long. High quality.
