Japan, WWII – Imperial Japanese Army M38 Warrant Officer Tunic. It is constructed out of a olive drab wool. It features a five brass button front with two breast pockets that have buttons and scalloped flaps, two hip pockets with plan flaps and stitched French cuffs. Above the right breast pocket is a red (Army Infantry and Tanks) wool branch of service chevron. Above the left breast pocket are three loops for a for a ribbon bar. There are several black kanji stamps, three which are most evident are; one to the right breast pocket flap, the top-right shoulder and below the reverse of the collar. The collar features two pink (Engineer) Warrant Officer collar tabs. The exterior shows signs of mothing and thinning throughout along with typical usage. The interior features a plain weave pearl cotton. It shows evident sweat staining. The left breast pocket is marked. Shoulder to shoulder is 16 inches. Spine to collar is 26 inches. Sleeve is 21 ½ inches long.
