WWI & Luftwaffe - Four-Piece Medal Bar
German Empire WWI & Luftwaffe WWII – Four-Piece Medal Bar. Given construction this has been recently assembled with all original awards. From left to right:
- German Empire, WWI – Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse 1914), reinstituted August 5, 1914.
- Germany, c.1934 - Cross of Honor for Front-Line Fighters with Swords (Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer), instituted July 13, 1934.
- Germany, WWII - Wehrmacht-Luftwaffe 12 Year Long Service Medal (Wehrmacht Dienstauszeichnung 3. Klasse für 12-jährige Dienstzeit (Luftwaffe), instituted March 16, 1936.
- Germany, WWII – Wehrmacht-Luftwaffe 4 Year Long Service Medal (Wehrmacht Dienstauszeichnung 4. Klasse für 4-jährige Dienstzeit (Luftwaffe), instituted March 16, 1936. Note: the early 1st pattern emblem.
The bar consists of a stamped and plated sheet metal base, that is covered to the front with each medal’s appropriate rayon ribbon (and Luftwaffe insignia). The reverse has a well working pin, hinge and catch assembly that remains in well working condition. It measures 5 1/2 inches wide by 2 7/8 inches tall.
