Great Britain, Second Boer War and Great War – Five Piece Medal Bar: QSA, KSA, 1914 Star with clasp, British War and Victory Medal. Awarded to Staff Sergeant John Thompson of the Scots Guards - Service Number: 973. Thompson was born in 1871 in Ninette, Manitoba, Canada and passed in 1922. Thompson was also awarded the Silver War Badge (Number: 163403) as a result of sickness. The Scots Guards served on the Western Front during the Great War. The mounted on a black felt covered backing with a plate that reads: “Ste. Sgt. J.T. Thompson Scots Gds. Died Oct 13. 1922.”. The reverse of the medals show remnants of tape. The final two photos feature digital copies of a WWI Medal Roll Index Card and Pension Ledger.
