Mitgliednadel Deutsche Stenografenschaft. Created September 30, 1933, the German Stenographic Society (Deutsche Stenografenschaft) was the umbrella organization in the Third Reich Germany of Adolf Hitler for those who were employed professionally by taking shorthand or doing machine typing. Office workers, secretaries and even court reporters were members. It is constructed out of a die stamped tombak base that has been gold gilded and contains blue and white enamel work. The hexagon shaped obverse features, in white: a winged pen with a swastika intertwined in it, on a blue background. The fullback reverse is marked: “Ges. Gesch.” and has a soldered-on knurled stickpin. The face measures 7/16 of an inch in diameter by 5/8 of an inch tall. A rare membership pin missing from most collections.
