A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Puma of Solingen. Textbook Earliest/Early era construction, dating this piece 1933/34. The blade on this looks decent. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto remains visible. The stamped “Puma Solingen” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” patent mark are both nicely executed. The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit remains nice and tight. The blade rates Exc+. It has been cleaned, has been ever-so-slightly sharpened and shows age grey and scratches throughout. The buffer pad is lost to time. The sheet metal based black enamel painted scabbard looks great. It continues to remain dent free. It has one scabbard runner. The wide brown scabbard leather looks good. Some finish loss to the button strap. All of its rivets intact and the snap continues to work well. The cast iron-based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 99% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered Kautschuk and remain in near perfect condition. Both solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The medium HJ diamond retains 99% of its enamel.
