Freiwilliger Arbeitsdienst Mützen Abzeichen. Official uniform regulations were first introduced on October 1, 1933, with modifications made in July 1934. It is constructed out of a die stamped tombak base that has been silver washed. The obverse features the FAD emblem of a flat shovel above two outward pointing wheat sheaths. The hollow back reverse is marked: “Ges. Gesch.” and features a vertically soldered-on flatwire pongs. It measures 1 3/16 inches wide by 1 1/8 inches tall. Nice silvering.
