Early SA Dagger by J.A. Henckles

One of the most requested makers by collectors! A Model 1933 - Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by J. A. Henckles of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and twins “J. A. Henckels Solingen Zwilingswerk” maker mark are both crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is visible the entire length of the blade and is easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc++. It has been cleaned and shows scratches throughout. The sheet metal based brown anodized scabbard is in excellent condition. It remains dent free and holds 80%+ of its original factory lacquer. Minor rub marks to the length of it. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings are in excellent shape. The ball has a wee bruise, yet retains a very nice round profile. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect. The crossguards are solid nickel-silver. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “Wf” (Westfallen). It shows evidence of being cleaned of the verdigris. The brown hardwood grip looks great. There are some chips and flake chips to the top. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 98%+ of its enamel. A very desirable maker!
