Army Officer Breast Eagle
Wehrmacht-Heer Brustadler für Offiziere. It is constructed out of hand embroidered rolled, twisted and crunched silver bullion thread with green rayon accent thread to a dark green wool backing that is stitched to a piece of black buckram and a glued on back paper backing. The obverse depicts a silver and green army open winged eagle, clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons, above a dark green backing. The reverse shows some of the original black paper backing, the black buckram and stitching. It measures 3 3/4 inches wide by 1 5/8 inches high. A great piece.
