Model 1935 Heer Dolch by Alcoso - Alexander Coppel of Solingen. This Carl Wester made Damascus blade was a special order, privately purchased by a well-heeled officer. The rosebud pattern Damascus blade on this one looks excellent with pleasant layer waves and circular outlines throughout. The tang is clearly marked: “Damascener C. W. 3” (Damascus smith, Carl Wester, pattern Nr. 3). The blade on this one rates Exc++. It has been professionally restored, lightening some areas. The dark brown thick leather buffer pad remains intact. The sheet metal based nickel-silver plated scabbard is gorgeous with wonderful age patina. It provides great detail with the random pebbling throughout and crisp acorn bands. It remains completely dent free and the two original throat retaining screws remain intact. The nickel-silver plated crossguard provides beautiful crisp detail. The ferrule and pommel are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The deep orange trylon grip on this one is chip and crack-free. Beautiful matching silver patina. All textbook Alcoso construction. Damascus is the pinnacle of blade collecting…
