A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Christianswerk of Solingen. Textbook Earliest era construction, dating this piece 1933 (c.June 1933 to pre-January 15, 1934). The blade on this looks good. The stamped fork “Christianswerk Solingen” (Die 1) maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” patent mark are both crisp and beautifully executed. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto looks great. The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit remains nice and tight. The blade rates Exc+. The tip has a wave to it, it has been sharpened, there are a few nicks to the cutting edge and it shows age grey/spotting throughout. The buffer pad is lost to time. The sheet metal based black enamel painted scabbard looks great. It has been re-painted and continues to remain dent free. It has one scabbard runner. The black scabbard leather has been treated and is in great condition. There are a few stress cracks. It is “LFS” marked. All of its rivets intact and the snap continues to work well. The cast iron-based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 75% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelit and remain in near perfect condition. Both solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The small HJ diamond retains 95% of its enamel.
