Navy Watch Guard Badge
A Wachabzeichen der Kriegsmarine. The officer or NCO with patrol service on board, both on submarines and battle ships, would wear one of these. It is constructed out of a die stamped tombak base that has been gold gilded with polished highlights. The oval shaped obverse features a fouled anchor encircled by an oak leaf and ribbon wreath. The hollow back reverse features all three flat prongs. It has beautiful crisp detail and highlights. It measures 2 1/8 inches wide by 2 ½ inches tall. A rare badge missing from most collections!
