Reichsarbeitsdienst “Arbeits Bank” Mitgliednadel. From June 1935 onward, this would have been given to men between the ages of 18 and 25 who served their six months of military service. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been silver washed and contains white, black and red translucent enamel work. The oval shaped obverse depicts a centrally placed downward pointing black spade shovel with a mobile swastika on its head and a wheat sheath coming out either side of it, this lies on a white background and is surrounded by “Arbeits Dank” (Labor Thanks) which is on a red translucent pebbled background. The fullback reverse is marked: “Ges. Gesch” to the bottom and has a soldered-on round plate holding a vertical well working pin assembly. The enamel work is 99% intact. It measures 5/8 of an inch wide by 7/8 of an inch tall.
