Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by RZM M7/87/38 - Malsch & Ambronn of Steinbach 1938. The blade on this one is looks great. The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and “RZM M7/87/38” RZM mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain looks wonderful and easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an Exc++/NM. It shows some age grey, scratches and spotting throughout. The steel based brown enamel painted scabbard looks excellent. There is some spidering and surface scratches. It also has some tape remnants. It retains 98%+ paint coverage and remains dent free. The steel-based nickel-silver plated scabbard fittings are in practically perfect shape. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap. The crossguards are aluminum based, which I would consider this a textbook feature for these RZM marked Malsch & Ambronns. The almost tiger striped brown hardwood grip looks great. It retains most of its original factory lacquer. There are four wee hits to the obverse. The solid nickel-silver eagle is beautifully detailed and has a near perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. Purchased from the veteran’s family.
