M1937 Fliegerdolch by J. A. Henckels of Solingen. The blade on this one looks wonderful. The acid etched seated squirrel holding a broadsword “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is stunning, running the full length of the blade, easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates NM. There is the slightest age spotting along with the typical runner marks. The pebbled blue leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel-based airplane grey finished scabbard looks excellent. It depicts nice details throughout the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The two-side throat retaining screws remain intact. The burnished aluminum Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has beautiful details to the chest, wings and top side etched oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and pommel look excellent as well. The swastika holds traces of its original gilding. The two-toned orange trylon grip looks wonderful. It has one chip to the top obverse side. The springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. It does show some wear. Overall this is a very nice Textbook configuration Eickhorn Luftwaffe Dagger.
