Transitional - Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by WKC of Solingen 1938. The blade on this one looks good. The stamped “RZM M7/42 1938” RZM mark and date and knights head “WKC Solingen” maker mark are all beautifully executed. It has a solid fit and sharp tip. The blade rates Exc+. It has been slightly sharpened and shortened, leaving some rough areas to the cutting edge and also shows age staining throughout. The black sealed leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The t sheet metal based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent. It retains 90% paint coverage and remains completely dent free. It has two runners. The folded over black leather strap retains all of its rivets and is marked “LFS”. The “Stocko 4” marked snap continues to work well. The hilt is constructed out of a zinc base that has been nickel-silver plated. The plating remains 95%+ intact, with wear in the expected areas. The two black checkered bakelite grip plates are in perfect condition and secured with two solid steel grip rivets. To the center obverse of the grip is a large HJ diamond which retains 99%+ enamel. Textbook die flaw, features and construction.
