Spürfähnchen. Issued on a limited basis, a gas warning flag set (also utilized to mark minefields) consisted of twenty small flags on red steel metal poles, seventy-five feet of yellow marking tape and a leather carrying pouch. Constructed out of a twill weave yellow and black die cotton base. The downward pointing triangular shaped obverse features a black skull and crossbones on a yellow base. The reverse displays where the fly ends have been folded over and stitched together. The hoist end stitching has let go. It measures 3 1/4 inches wide by 4 3/8 inches tall. A great display piece.
