Stickpin – EKII 1914 and Hindenburg Cross with Swords
Minatur - Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse 1914 mit Das Ehrenkreuz des Weltkrieges 1914/1918 und Band. This piece would have been privately purchased and worn by the awardee while in civilian clothing. It is constructed out of a die struck nickel-silver base that has been silver washed and contains black paint work along with a die stamped bronze base that has been bronze washed. The obverse features an Imperial 2nd Class Iron Cross beside a Honor Cross of the World War 1914/1918 with Swords, pinned in front of the appropriate rayon ribbon. The fullback reverse features a soldered-on and knurled stickpin. The face measures 1 3/8 inches wide by 5/8 of an inch tall. A great piece!
