Rare - 4. Stufe Dienstauszeichnung für den Reichsarbeitsdienst weibliche Jugend für 4 Jahre. Instituted January 30, 1938, the 4-year RADwJ Long Service medal was awarded to all members of the RAD/RADwJ who contributed 4 years of loyal service. It is constructed out of a die stuck cupal base that has been bronze washed with burnished backgrounds and finished in a protective lacquer coating. The oval shaped obverse features a RADwJ emblem, which consists of; a mobile swastika above two outward pointing sheaths of wheat, which lies on a smooth background and is surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the top and bottom. The reverse of the badge reads: “Für treue Dienste im Reichsarbeitsdienst” (For Faithful Service in the Reich Labor Service) on a smooth field and is also surrounded by the same wreath. To the top is a soldered-on loop and ring which holds a bowtie blue rayon ribbon and a stitched-on well working bronze pin assembly. The edge is scratched. The award measures 1 5/8 inches high by 1 1/4 inches wide. A very rare award.
