Italian Made – NSDAP Flag

Nationalflagge/Parteiflagge 1933-45. This would have been made in Italy prior to Hitler’s official visit in 1938. It is constructed out of a red dyed cotton base with a stitched-on white dyed and black printed cotton roundel. The rectangular shaped obverse features a centrally placed black mobile swastika surrounded by a white roundel and red base. The reverse is the same as the obverse, with a mirror swastika. The fly end has been folded over and stitched together. The hoist end has also been folded over and stitched together with four off red strings stitched. There is a partial inspection stamp that reads: “Municipio Di Napoli Economato” (City of Naples - Treasurer). It measures 64 inches long by 38 inches tall. A wonderful example.
