GI Signed - RADwJ (Reichsarbeitsdienst der weiblichen Jugend) Dienstwimpel. It is constructed out of a multi-piece died cotton fabric that has been stitched together. The obverse features a RADwJ roundel, a black mobile swastika above two black sheaths of wheat, on a white round background, stitched to a red triangular flag. The top fly end has been folded over and stitched together. The bottom has chain link reenforced stitching. There is a zig-zag reenforced stitching to the very fly end. The hoist end has a white cotton strip that encases a thick cotton string, looped and visible to both the top and bottom. Towards the bottom hoist string is two holes. The reverse roundel features several GI signatures and addresses of the original U.S. vets who captured it. Some research could tell a story here. A great piece. It measures 46 inches tall by 84 inches long.
