Ernst Knoblauch was born March 23, 1884, his Party Number was: 316 985 and his SS Number was: 310 353. He was promoted to: SS-Sturmbannführer on June 21, 1944 - SS-Sturmbannführer dR Waffen-SS. The SS Honor Ring was a personal gift bestowed by Himmler intended as “reminder at all times to be willing to risk the life of ourselves for the life of the whole” and would become one of the highest honors bestowed upon a man of the elite SS. The SS honor ring was designed by Karl Maria Wiligut and produced solely by master gold/silversmith Otto & Karolina Gahr of Munich.

This ring is a size 11, has a diameter of 20.2mm and is dated April, 20, 1942. The exterior displays a Totenkopf, sig rune, hagal rune swastika and a double SS and bind rune. Interior exhibits a nice inscription reading: “S lb. (Seinen Lieben – With Respect and Honor) Knoblauch 20. 4. 42. H. Himmler”. The skull is affixed directly above the seam, indicating the ring was sized before it was welded closed. The back dual rune is worn. Included with the ring is a Certificate of Authenticity by Don Boyle. This piece is featured on pages 586 and 587 of “SS-Totenkopfring - Himmleruv prsten cti”.
