Stickpin - Knight’s Cross and Oakleaves
Miniatur zum Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub 1939 Aufschlagnadel. This piece would be privately purchased and worn by the awardee while in civilian clothing. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that been silver washed and black enamel painted. The obverse features; a pattée style cross that has a centrally placed embossed mobile swastika and “1939” to the lower arm, which is all on a black base and surrounded by a silvered ribbed/beaded row and a flat outlying border and is underneath a three-piece oakleaf cluster. The fullback reverse features a soldered-on knurled stickpin. The face measures 11mm wide and 16mm tall.
