Clasp to the Iron Cross Second Class 1939 Award Document - 20 x 14cm with a center fold, dated 29.11.1939, to Pionier Herman Rahls Btl.157. These were the guys who raced across the border making sure the bridges and roads remained intact so the regular army could make it through during the invasion of Poland. So this is interesting because it would have accompanied a first pattern spange with the indented sides to the date box. The document is signed by a Generalmajor.
