2 Award Documents to same guy, Eastern Front & BWB
Fritz Strobel, served on the eastern front winning the Eastern Front Award in Sept 1942, here we have his Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 Award Document. Instituted May 6, 1942, the Winter Battle in the East 1941/42 medal was awarded to individuals who served on the German Eastern Front during November 15, 1941, to April 15, 1942.
Later in 1944 the was wounded and awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz. Instituted September 1, 1939, the black wound badge was awarded to those who were wounded once or twice by hostile action (including air raids), or frostbitten in the line of duty.
