A 2. Klasse Tapferkeits und Verdienst Auszeichnung für Ostvölker in Silber by 100 - Rudolf Wächtler & Lange of Mittweida. The 2nd Class Ostvolk Medal in Silver was awarded for bravery to military and paramilitary personnel from the former Soviet Union. The award is constructed out of a die struck, zinc base that has been silver washed. The obverse depicts a centrally placed rosette flower that is surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath that is encircled by a rope pattern, on top of two crossed broad swords and an eight point sunburst pattern. The reverse shows a semi-hollow flat back. This piece comes with approximately 3 1/4 inches of folded over green and white ribbed rayon ribbon with a tombac pin. The ring is marked 100. It could use a cleaning. The award measures approximately 1 9/16 inches wide and tall. It continues to hold nice detail!
