So guys this is what you can sometimes find at the bottom of a tackle box! A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/13 - Arthur Schüttelhofer & Co. of Solingen. Based on construction I’d estimate this piece to be constructed around 1941. The thick ricassoed blade on this one looks great. The stamped “RZM M7/13” maker mark is hardly visible and an educated guess. This has been heavily sharpened. The black sealed leather buffer pad remains intact. The badly dented scabbard is sheet metal based and lost most its' finish. The black scabbard leather looks to have been period repaired and the snap leather is lost. The zinc-based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 85%+ of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite and soiled. Both solid steel rivets remain tightly secured. The large HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel. The most common maker of RZM era HJ knives.
