A Model 1934 Sturmabteilung Ehrendolch by Ernst Pack & Söhne of Solingen. Ernst Röhm Honor daggers were granted to members of the SS/SA who either had uninterrupted service since December 31, 1931 or those who transferred from the Hitler Youth prior to December 31, 1931. After the Night of the Long Knives, Ernst Röhm was declared a “traitor” and removal of the inscription was mandated.
The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto is dark crisp and beautifully executed. The reverse was completely ground of the inscription. 95% of the Jung Siegfried wielding a hammer “E. P. & S. Solingen” maker mark remains. Traces of the crossgrain remains. There are a couple hits to the cutting edge like a kid used this in a sword fight. Hard to see but you will find them with your fingers. The blade rates Exc+. There is some age. The sheet metal based brown anodized scabbard is in excellent condition. It retains 99% of it's anodizing and 90% of it's factory lacquer. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings are in excellent shape. The ball remains perfectly round. All four screws remain intact, though one is a replacement. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect. The solid nickel-silver crossguards are in wonderful shape. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “Nrh” (Niederrhein). The textbook light grained hardwood grip looks excellent. Typical bumps throughout. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A Textbook style Pack.
