Here we have a combat worn example of an undented M16 Helmet. The shell is constructed out of a stamped piece of steel sheet metal that has been period green painted. The shell has a folded over edge, two separately applied air vents and three split rivets. The interior has three pads with all fingers that are supple & attached to a steel band. The horsehair pads remain intact. One pad is 35% pulled away from the liner. The draw string is a modern replacement. The exterior continues to retain 85%+ of its original paint! The helmet is maker marked and sized "ET64" indicating manufacture by Eisenhuettenwerke Thale A.G. size 64. The chinstrap is lost to time.
