K98 Bayonet by J.Sch 1941

A Wehrmacht Bajonett für K98 by J Sch of Solingen 1941. The K98 Bayonet was designed for the German Wehrmacht standard service Karabiner 98 kurz (7.92x57mm Mauser cartridge) bolt-action rifle - 1935. The single edged, single fullered, blued blade on this one has wear but no sharpening. The fit is perfect. It is maker marked and dated to the spine, and “4838” (serial/distribution number) to the obverse. The blade rates a Exc+. The steel based, black anodized scabbard has lot's of wear and a couple dents to the reverse. It is marked matching the blade perfectly. The single side screw remains intact. The scabbard sits securely up against the hilt. The hilt looks great! The brown bakelite grip plates are in great condition! They show the common pressure marks but no chips, cracks or splits! The button continues to work well. This piece is profusely inspection stamped as one would expect. This one comes with a nice frog that is unmarked.
