ALFING Factory Police Helmet

Here we have a standard light weight stamped sheet steel square dip M34 style Fire Police Helmet. It continues to retain about 95%+ of its original black paint with minor oxidization spotting throughout. The helmet decals are 95% complete. The helmet has standard "salt and pepper" ventilation holes positioned on each side of the crown. All four of the flat headed liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has a M31 civic style light tan leather liner. It has ventilation perforations to the front forehead section. There are four natural cork spacers between the liner and the helmet shell. The liner has original leather tabs for attaching the protective leather neck guard intact. The chin strap is all there but someone put some tape on the one side so I assume it's broke. Best of all it is decaled to the ALFING factory. I love these factory Police helmets. This one is from the ALFING Kessler Sondermaschinen GmbH factory located in Aalen. That company forged large crankshafts vital to the war effort. The company is still in business! It was the target of massive allied bombing raids and in 1944 production was relocated in four specially constructed Wasseralfinger tunnels. I see no size markings but would guess the liner 54.
