An Early Nationalsozialistische Parteiabzeichen, likely by Hoffstatter of Bonn. These were available for private purchase / given (HJ/BDM) to individuals after they had joined the NSDAP. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been bronze washed and contains red, white and black enamel work. The round shaped obverse depicts a black mobile swastika on a white backing, encircled by: “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE - D.A.P.” on a red translucent pebbled backing. The slightly concave reverse shows a soldered on round plate pin assembly. The very tip of the pin assembly has broken off yet it remains working. It is also marked “Ges. Gesch.” to the back and on the plate as well. The enamel work has a tiny chip and is 99% intact. The pin measures approximately 15/16 of an inch in diameter. An early desirable variation by the most desirable maker!
