Here we have a 1895 pattern Imperial Prussian Army Belt Buckle! The rectangular shaped buckle is constructed out of a die struck steel base that has been green painted. The obverse roundel is spearately applied and secured with 2 solder spots. It depicts the Imperial king’s crown on a smooth round background. The crown is above a half laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is below the Heer motto reading: “Gott Mit Uns” (God with us). The wreath and motto are both in front of a decorative lined type pattern which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a smooth rectangular backing. The reverse shows a soldered on steel catch and steel pin, post/sleeve and prongs assembly.. The buckle shows heavy age wear throughout and has taken a good hit to the roundel. It erestingly it has a leather tab marked, "Rud.(Rudolf) Builleaume MÜlheim 1915" a known period leather work. Buckle measures approximately 2 1/2 inch wide by 2 inches high.
