2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by Clemen & Jung
A M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by Clemen & Jung of Solingen. The blade on this one has some minor age and some stain. The maker mark is etched to the reverse in in a single oval. This is their 2nd variation mark and the last used in the period. The blade on this one rates a Mint. The original pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The generic steel based airplane grey plated scabbard is in great shape. It depicts good details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns and the aluminum hand enhanced bands. It remains completely dent free. The single side throat retaining screw remains intact and unturned. The burnished aluminum Luftwaffe eagle crossguard, feathers & wings and are nicely executed. There are minor dirt spots throughout. The steel ferrule and alloy pommel both look great. The celluloid covered grip has double twist wire wrap. A rare maker of Luftwaffe daggers.
