A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Alcoso of Solingen. The bright cleaned blade on this one has some age and fingerprint stain, some deep enough to have caused micro pits. The acid etched maker mark is crisp and beautifully executed! It has a perfect fit. The original brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The original Alcoso scabbard is steel based and has aluminum bands matching the crossguard. The scabbard still depicts good details despite honest wear, It remains completely dent free and the single screw remains intact! The aluminum based Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The gilt pommel and steel ferrule look awesome with those proud oak leaves and acorns. The early yellow trylon grip has aged one tone darker to the obverse as UV and time has worked its' magic. The textbook double twist wire remains tightly intact. One twist is a bit miss-shaped at the lower reverse entry hole. A solid textbook piece!
