K98 bayonet by JWH 1942
A Wehrmacht Bajonett für K98. The K98 Bayonet was designed for the German Wehrmacht standard service Karabiner 98 kurz (7.92x57mm Mauser cartridge) bolt-action rifle. The single edged, single fullered, blued blade on this one shows wear in the area it rubs on the runners but no sharpening. It is marked "42 JWH" and "63 m". Some are not familiar with this production code. JWH 42 indicates production by Manufacture, Nationale (Staatliche Waffenfabrik) Chatellerault in France. This one was used and shows wear to the scabbard but no dents. Grip plates are chip and crack-free. Comes with a worn frog that is marked but sorry I cannot make it out. Rare Bayonet!
