A 1.Modell Reichsluftschutzbund (RLB) Dolch by Ernst Erich Witte, (Kroneck) of Solingen. The blade on this one has been cleaned hard and the tip has a bit of reshaping and sharpening. There are some fine scratches running longitudinally down the blade. The fit is perfect, the acid etched maker mark is lightly executed as was to habit with Kroneck. This blade rates a Exc. The Art Deco crossguard is plated aluminum crossguard and pommel are beautifully executed and in fine shape with all matching patina. The eagle crossguard looks excellent! The black chip-free hardwood grip is in beautiful condition! There are some fine hairlines towards the lower guard fit. You hardly ever find them like this! These grips were boiled in aniline and often want to chip as the die tends to make them brittle, this one is definitely better than 95% of them. It has a properly pinned fist pattern RLB insignia. The pins enamel is about 95%. The enamel on these are so thin, and they did not stand up. The black enameled repainted scabbard has 95% paint coverage with normal scratches and chips from period wear. The plated scabbard fitting is undented and suffers some plating loss from wear. All the screws are intact and unturned. It all fits fine and comes with a beautiful factory issued OLC marked hanger. Overall an excellent example!
