A personalized M1937 Fliegerdolch für Offiziere to Karl Gratz. Here's a nice example of a personalized dagger. This appears to be an unmarked Alcoso. The quality factory polished blade on this example is in good shape. There is some minor runner marks. The tip is perfect and the etched maker mark and location is nicely executed. The blade rates NM. Best of all look at that Jeweler engraved personalization on the back of the crossguard! "Karl Gratz J.G.2" The engraving is light and I was so tempted to darken it a bit to further enhance but that, I leave to you it you so choose. The dent-free scabbard is in good shape with some minor wear. The textbook crossguard and gilt pommel are beautifully detailed and in great condition. The off white celluloid over wood/plaster grip is flawless. The double twist Alcoso brass wire is intact. Overall this one has a gorgeous body and will make for an excellent display! Finally this was purchased from Tom Johnson in '89. Included with the dagger is a framed autographed photo. Karl served out the entire war being credited with 131 aerial victories winning his final one in April 1945. He served in various distinguished units including:
