Luftwaffe Flieger Flight Uniform
Luftwaffe Fliegerbluse für einen Flieger der Fliegertruppe. It is constructed out of a tailor-made blue-grey wool material with a grey satin/artificial silk lining. It features four black bakelite buttons to the front, with two waist pockets that have straight flaps and are each secured with a silvered pebbled button (marked “WR” to the underside) and straight cuffs. The collar has a steel hook/eye closure. The underside has three black bakelite buttons and a cloth tab. The insignia consists of: two flieger rank (one gull to each) flight personnel (yellow) tabs, a pair of enlisted flight personnel (yellow piped) slip-on shoulder boards each secured with a silvered pebbled button (marked “Extra Fein OLC” - Overhoff & Cie. of Lüdenscheid, to the underside) and a hand stitched-on machine embroidered 2nd pattern Luftwaffe breast eagle. The interior has: a hanger loop to the collar, seven small black bakelite buttons (three to the collar, two to the top chest, and three for each pocket), two adjustable belt ramp straps and aluminum hooks (visible to the back), two breast pockets and a first aid kit pocket. The left pocket is sized with black ink markings reading: “CRAT 43” “41 90 42 63 61”. The tunic shows a modest amount of even wear and the odd moth nip. There is a small repair above the eagle. A nice flight blouse.
