Army General’s Visor Cap Wreath and Cockade
Wehmacht-Heer Eichenlaubkranz mit kokarde für die Schirmmütze General. It is constructed out of a multi piece injection molded aluminum alloy base that has been gold gilded (wreath) and silver washed (cockade) along with being black painted and contains a red felt plug. The obverse features a cockade surrounded by a gold oak leaf and acorn wreath that is open to the top and tied together at the bottom. The hollow back reverse features two round wire tombak prongs, the cockade is soldered to the wreath on both sides. The cockade features two flatwire prongs holding the front piece and plug, and is marked: “D.R.G.M.” (top) and “1429574” (bottom). It is measured 2 5/8 inches wide by 1 3/4 inches tall. A great example.
