DSVB “KK-Gewehr” Shooting Award 1944 by C. Poellath
Deutscher Standschützenverband (DSVB) Tirol “KK-Gewehr” Shooting/Marksman Competition Award 1944 by Carl Poellath of Schrobenhausen. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc base that has been gold gilded and with red, green and white paint work. The round shaped obverse features a red Tyrolean style eagle clutching a target that has a mobile swastika on it, and is flanked, to the neck, by two green laurel leaf clusters and, to the legs, “1944” all above “KK-GEWHR” and on top of a pebbled background. The fullback reverse features a soldered-on round plate that is maker marked “C. Poellath Schrobenhausen” and holds a well working pin assembly. It measures 1 9/16 inches in diameter. Many variations to collect!
