A 2. Stufe Nahkampfspange in Silber (1.5.4) by A.G.M.u.K. – Arbeitsgemeinschaft Metall und Kunststoff of Gablonz an der Neiße. Instituted November 25, 1942, the Silver II Stage Close Combat Clasp was awarded for 30 close combat battles. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been silver washed. The obverse depicts a crossed model 24 grenade and K98 bayonet with oak leaves, acorns and lined rays all beneath a German national eagle. The reverse of the badge is correctly designer marked “Fec. W. E. Peekhaus Berlin” and fully offset maker marked “Ausf. A.G.M.u.K. Gablonz.”. It also correctly displays; a crimped-on round wire catch, stamped hinge and solid pin. Beautiful finish remains. It has the correct flaw. It measures 3 13/16 inches wide by 1 inch tall. A very nice example.
